Hello, My name is Troy DeHart.

I am a life-long resident of Johnson County and I am running for Sheriff.

I have been involved with law enforcement most of my adult life. On May 4, 2010, Johnson County will be electing a new sheriff. I would appreciate your support and more importantly, your vote during this upcoming election. I care about this community and am excited to get to work for you.

I feel I will bring new and fresh ideas to the Sheriff's Office. There are many tough issues facing all of us both on a personal and governmental level. As your next sheriff I will focus on the citizens' issues as it pertains to law enforcement. I believe in working for the people to help secure a safe community that we all will be proud to call home.

Just as those are fighting on foreign soils to secure our freedoms, I will do my part as your next sheriff to fight crime and ensure safety for you and your loved ones here at home. Please read through the information I posted here so that you can get to know more about me and how I can serve you as the chief law enforcement officer of the county.

Johnson County Indiana Sheriff Election Info

Troy was born and raised in Johnson County, and along with his wife Beth of 15 years, are raising their three children here. Troy is dedicated to making sure all children grow up in a place that is safe. Troy and Beth are active members of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Trafalgar.

Troy understands the delicate balance of keeping the residents of Johnson County safe while not wasting tax dollars with extravagant spending. The best use of tax dollars is always important to him. Troy is a graduate of Vincennes University with a degree in Law Enforcement.

As a deputy sheriff, he was a canine officer, certified firearms instructor, SWAT team member, drug enforcement detective, and received the accommodation medal for bravery while in the line of duty.
